[...] I think we’ll look back on 2009 as the year when social media had the greatest hype, and 2010 as the year we started to really figure out how to make it work. One of the questions that I often heard asked amid the hype this year was, “Are decision makers actually using social media?” For the answer, check out a great blog post by Chris Koch of the IT Services Marketing Association called “Want proof that the C-suite is into social media? Here it is.” [...]

Chris,

My experience with the Corporate C suite and conversations from both sides of the fence (as a salesperson presenting to them and on the side of being presented to)this post is spot on.
I believe the C Suite is looking at Social Media, generally, as more access to opportunities and communications albeit opportunities and communications that have to be compartmentalized, filtered and ranked as to value and ROI potential. It would be a very short sighted 'C' level executive who doesn't recognize that with more exposure and dialog comes the potential for more fluff and misuse but would take the more opportunities every day of the week.
